Our Equipment:
We have both PC and Macintosh platforms and we output all electronic
art to a Computer-to-Plate system. With this equipment we can
handle most of your digital needs in-house.
For All Electronic
Files:
- Please provide PDF or EPS files with fonts embedded and
in spot color format. These formats work best with our CTP
System and have the smallest chance for errors.
- Spot color separations are required.
Please reference PMS colors when sending in your order.
- CMYK may work sometimes as long as
the object is 100% of any one color (ex: 0% C 0% M 0% Y
100% K)
Typically, RGB is meant for web use and does not work well
for printing
- We output files at 2400 DPI and 120 LPI on a normal basis.
We recommend all artwork to be sent in vector format to
ensure the best quality. Rasterized artwork will work as
long as the resolution is high enough and is spot colored.
Photos should be at least 300 dpi and line art at least
600 dpi.
- We will use the positioning provided
by you in your file - please include crop marks if necessary.
- What you send should be exactly what
you want printed. It should be the proper size, in the proper
position, with correct color breaks, and all special instructions
noted on the purchase order. Changes that we must make to
your files may incur extra charges, and may require some
kind of proof.
- Include all links and fonts. Fonts
may be change to graphic in some file modes. Compress files
before sending - this will help prevent file corruption
and reduce the size.
- Plese send a hard copy sample of the form with your electronic
file even it is just a fax.
- We do not recommend sending Microsoft Office Documents.
Programs:
Our Current Programs:
Rampage 10.0 CTP, Mac InDesign CS, Mac Freehand 7.0, Mac Pagemaker
6.5, Mac Illustrator CS, Mac Photoshop CS, PC QuarkXPress
5.0 and Mac QuarkXPress 6.5. We use Mac QuarkXPress to generate
all in-house documents.
NOT Recommended:
PDF files that are not color separated and Microsoft Office
documents are not recommended. JPEG, GIF, BMP, PICT, and WMF
files are intended for web and screen display and are not
recommended for printing purposes. We recommend that you contact
us before sending files that we do not recommend.
If the above is not possible,
please send in camera ready artwork or film negatives.
